The 3DO version of the infamous Night Trap is better than those for other consoles with a larger video screen. The game is a great and quirky platformer. Casper the Ghost is a great adventure/platform game, and very kid friendly though I think it was ported to the PS1 as well. I personally love Star Control and have been a fan for ages (first played the pc version). In any case, the suggestions by MattyG above are good ones. Course, they're hard to find and not cheap. You might want to look for some aftermarket controllers as the original FZ-1 controllers aren't great. Apparently the 3DO didn't have copy protection which makes it VERY easy to pirate for. I've not been to pressed to get more though a couple interest me. It's in fairly good shape and works perfectly, despite being 17 years old.

Road rash, Wing III, Madden, NFS, Gex, Zhadnost (game show), Bladeforce, Killing Time, Wolfenstein 3D, Total Eclipse, Return Fire, Shockwave II, Samurai Shodown, Street Fighter II, D, Battlesport (very underrated), Demolition Man, Snow Job and Casper are all absolute must haves.Remember that many of these games were originally on the 3DO and were ported to other systems - not the other way around - so the coding favours the 3DO chipset!Īs for English speaking RPG/Adventure - there are two excellent D&D titles - Slayer and Deathkeep, Guardian War/Powers Kingdom, Luciennes Quest (rare and usually commands $100 US), Dragon Lore, Lost Eden.
I've stated in several posts before that the 3DO version of NFS is superior - I own Sat and PS versions as well but I still stand by what I say on the 3DO version.Įven though he is no friend of Atari the 3DO Kid (who is a friend of mine) has a top 50 youtube vid of 3DO games as well as some great compilation vids of Japanese imports.Worth checking out before you buy.
